My Cameras

While programming is both my job and a hobby, I also love photography. I just don’t get paid for it — yet. Here is a little bit of info about my cameras.
Voigtländer Bessa R3M
This is a special 250th anniversary rangefinder camera that came with a spectacular 50mm f/2 Heliar lens. It has an excellent meter that seems to expose exactly how I like it. The controls are fully manual, requiring adjustment of focus, aperture and shutter speed. It’s not quite as “street ready” as its brother the R2A which has an aperture-priority mode, but it’s built like a tank and seems like it can handle quite a beating.
Pentax K10D
This is a fantastic digital SLR made by Pentax. It’s the big brother to the K100D and K110D. I currently have three lenses for this system:
- Pentax DA 18-55
- Pentax DA 50-200
- Pentax M 50mm 1.7
Nikon FG
The Nikon FG is a manual focus SLR from the early 80s. Never considered more than an amateur’s camera, it never gained popularity like it’s bigger brother, the F3. However, this is a fantastic camera that has excellent TTL metering plus both fully automatic and fully manual exposure.
No example photos yet, sorry.
Minolta Hi-Matic F
This camera is a 1970s rangefinder with no exposure control. I love it!
Holga(mod)
Purchased from Holgamods.com, this camera is a medium format toy (yes, toy!) camera made in China. The fact that you can get it for $30 should tell you just how “quality” this camera is.
